One of the first lessons I learned on the road was that your plans will often change. Therefore, I would like to give you some tips to make your trips a little smoother.
Plan your trips
While researching I found the website www.visitacity.com displaying different itineraries, attractions and information about food and nightlife of the inserted destination. I used this tool to get an overview of London and Rome. Sure, you should have a rough plan for your trip but do not book everything in advance or you will likely feel too restricted and end up regretting it.
Expect everything to go wrong
No matter how prepared you are, some things will always happen unexpectedly. Life is always an adventure. Do not go crazy if you miss the bus, injure yourself or get scammed. Expect it to happen and do not beat yourself up when it does. Think of how this will make a great story one day and rationally figure out an alternative plan.
Book early
Flight booking is always the first thing to do when planning a trip. Sometimes I do this nearly one year in advance. The earlier you book, the lower the price will be. Airfares rarely go down in price unless there is a sale. It is also a good idea to check the prices of public transportation before the trip.
